TOWN OF LA VALLE
Special Town Meeting Minutes
June 8, 2009
1.Chairman Brey called the meeting to order 7:00 p.m.
2.Chairman Brey stated the powers of a town meeting
3.Chairman Brey stated the purpose of calling the special town meeting
was to have the electors authorize the town board to dispose of town
property, specifically the old town hall, the vacant lot next to
Fishy’s Bar & Grill and a remnant .29 acres of the property purchased
for the new town hall.
4.A motion was made by Marcia Mercier, seconded by Tom McManamy: To
authorize the board to dispose of the property with the town hall, the
vacant lot by Fishy’s Bar & Grill and the remnant .29 acre parcel.
Motion carried by a show of hands 23 aye, no nays.
5.A motion was made by Josh Ziegler, seconded by Jan Berry-Neau: To
sell the remnant .29 acre parcel to the Village of La Valle for $1.00
with Village to pay all legal fees and closing costs. Motion carried
by a show of hands 22 aye, 1 nay.
6.A motion was made by Tom McManamy, seconded by Guy Neau: To
authorize the board to proceed with the sale of the other two parcels
by advertising them requesting closed bids with the option to reject
any or all bids, if the properties are not sold in this manner to
authorize the board to sell the property at their discretion. Motion
carried by a show of hands 23 aye, no nays
7.A Motion was made by Guy Neau, seconded by Jim Lucht: To adjourn.
Motion carried voice vote all aye.
Meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
