TOWN OF LA VALLE
La Valle Town Board Special Meeting Minutes
June 30, 2008

1.Chairman Brey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 

2.Roll call: Supervisor Hartje-present; Supervisor Geitz-present;
Supervisor Neau-present; Supervisor Lucht-present; Chairman
Brey-present. All members present

3.A motion was made by Supervisor Neau, seconded by Supervisor Hartje:
To approve the posted agenda. Motion carried voice vote all aye. 

4.It was the consensus of the board to authorize the clerk to certify
to Sauk County Clerk that no offices or referendums for the Town of
LaValle are to be on the ballot for September Primary Election and
November Presidential Election

5.A motion was made by Supervisor Lucht, seconded by Supervisor
Hartje: To provide the Village of La Valle with the services of 3
police officers to work in the Village July 5 from approximately 10:00
pm – 2:00 am for the fire works display, with compensation to be
hourly wages and benefits of the officers. Motion carried voice vote
all aye.

6.A motion was made by Supervisor Hartje, seconded by Supervisor Neau:
To purchase a Sonar/GPS unit for the Boston Whaler for no more than
$700.00. 

Roll call: Supervisor Hartje-aye; Supervisor Geitz-aye; Supervisor
Neau-aye; Supervisor Lucht-aye; Chairman Brey-aye. Motion carried all
aye.

7.It was noted that a meeting with Attorney Steven Roy, Eugene
Mihlbauer and the Town of LaValle will be held at 3:00 pm at the Town
Hall to sign the Utility Easement Agreement between Eugene Mihlbauer
and the Town.  A check has been issued to the Roy Trust Account in the
amount of $39,000 for the final payment on the purchase of the DeBeir
property. Attorney Roy has forwarded the payment and the closing
paperwork to Attorney Kahler for the DeBeir family signatures.
The portion of land the Town intends to quit claim deed over to the
Village was discussed.

8.Several issues concerning the insurance adjustment were discussed. A
letter was signed by Chairman Brey authorizing General Engineering  to
discuss the matter with the insurance company. It was the consensus of
the board to put the item on the July 14th board meeting agenda.

9.Several issues regarding the design of the new construction were
addressed by the board. The final plans were completed. The following
preliminary time table was put forth by Jason Jackson of General
Engineering: 
July 10/17- Bid ads published
July 30, 4 pm- Bid opening at Town Hall
August 4, 6-7pm- Public Hearing at Town Hall
August 4, 7 pm-Board Meeting to review bids and possibly award
contract
If bid awarded on August 4 possible ground breaking date of August 18
or 25.
Completion date of March 20, 2009 with April 3, 2009 as final. 

10.A motion was made by Supervisor Geitz, seconded by Supervisor
Lucht:  To adjourn
Motion carried voice vote all aye
