December 10, 2009

1.Meeting: was called to order at 7:02pm by President Calvin Brey.  
Roll call was taken.	

2.Roll Call:Calvin Brey-present; Jim Lucht-present; Karen
Geitz-present; Andrew Johnson-present; Mark Schyvinck-present; Marin
Milewski-present.		        	   

3.AGENDA: was read and approved.  A motion was made by Karen Geitz
seconded by Andrew Johnson to approve. All aye.  Motion carried  

4.MINUTES: were read and approved.  A motion was made by Karen Geitz
seconded by Andrew Johnson to approve the minutes with the correction
of the budget.  There will be $1000.00 in the Appreciation dinner fund
and $900.00 more in the communication fund.  All aye.  Motion
carried.

5.BILLS:  were presented to the committee by Chief Milewski for the
month of December.  A motion was made by Mark Schyvinck seconded by
Andrew Johnson to approve checks #4530-#4540 totaling $7,409.42.   All
aye.  Motion Carried

Motion was made by Karen Geitz seconded by Andrew Johnson to deposit
$7,400.00 into the checking account according to the present split. 
All aye. Motion passed.

Motion was made by Karen Geitz seconded by Andrew Johnson to approve
the Financial Statement.  All aye. Motion passed.

6.TRANSFER EXCESS 2009 FIRE DEPARTMENT BUDGET DOLLARS FOR NEW ROOF IN
2010:  Calvin told the committee that the attorney advised no CD
should be used for the excess money.  The best way to save this money
would be for each the village and town to choose a spot in a savings
account and have the money earmarked for the new fire department roof.
 
A motion was made by Karen Geitz seconded by Andrew Johnson to put the
$5000.00 from the Capital Purchase fund with a 90% /10% split into
their own accounts and to be saved for the new roof.  
A motion was made by Karen Geitz seconded by Andrew Johnson to take
the $4000.00, with a 92% / 8% split, let over from the budget and put
it into the same ‘savings account’.  This money would also be used in
2010 for a new roof on the fire house.  This will be taken back to the
village and town boards for their approval.  

7.CHIEF:  LaValle Fire Department had been awarded a DNR grant.  The
Fire committees’ portion of the 50/50 grant will be $3,140.60. 
Firefighters have showed interest in starting a junior firefighters
program.  Rodney Henke will be heading up this project.  The committee
agreed this would be a good way get kids interested in the fire
service at a young age.  LaValle Fire Department will be training with
Wonewoc Fire Department on an ice rescue drill February 20, 2010. 
LaValle Fire Department members trained for a total of 52 hours in the
month of November.  

8.DNR GRANT:  was discussed in the chiefs report
   
9.APPRECIATION DINNER: It was decided that Fire department members and
their families along with Town and Village Officials would be invited
to the dinner.

10.COMMUNICATION:  Mark noticed a mistake in the budget.  $2,816.08
from a Fastenal bill was taken out of the budget twice.  Account #102
and #109 both had the same bill taken out of them.  They will be
changed and a new copy will be sent out.

11.ADJOURN:  A motion was made by Karen Geitz seconded by Mark
Schyvinck to adjourn.  Motion carried.  
Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm.
