TOWN OF LA VALLE
La Valle Town Board Special Meeting Minutes

April 27, 2009

1.Chairman Brey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2.Roll call: Supervisors Vaillancourt-present, Supervisor
Geitz-present, Supervisor Ziegler-present, Supervisor Lucht-absent,
Chairman Brey-present. Four members present, Supervisor Lucht absent.
3.A motion was made by Supervisor Geitz, seconded by Supervisor
Vaillancourt: to approve the posted agenda. Motion carried voice vote
all aye.
4.Supervisor Lucht arrived at the meeting 7:25 pm
5.Representative from Liberty Flag in Reedsburg gave a brief
presentation to the board regarding new flag pole and flag for the new
building. 
6.A motion was made by Supervisor Lucht, seconded by Supervisor
Vaillancourt: To approve the application for a Temporary Class “B”
(beer) license for the La Valle Sportsmen’s Club for May 2. Motion
carried voice vote all aye.
7.A motion was made by Supervisor Geitz, seconded by Supervisor Lucht:
To approve voucher to Dell Computer in the amount of $10,348.52 for
the computer system. Roll call: Vaillancourt-aye, Geitz-aye,
Ziegler-aye, Lucht-aye, Chairman Brey-aye. Motion carried voice vote
all aye.
8.Chairman Brey  named the Commission and Committee appointments:
Commissions:
Plan Commission: Beverly Vaillancourt, Richard Fish, Darrick Geitz,
Tom McManamy, Jack Roloff
Police Commission: Allen Baade, Richard Benesh, Jeannette Jessop,
Alternate Charles Moritz
Committees:
Ambulance: James Lucht; Beverly Vaillancourt
Emergency Government: Calvin Brey; Fire Chief Marin Milewski; Police
Officer Joe Prantner; Road Patrolman Al Johnson
Fire Department:  Calvin Brey; Jim Lucht; Karen Geitz
Hwy Safety:  Calvin Brey; Alan Johnson
Insurance: Beverly Vaillancourt; Josh Ziegler
Lakes: Beverly Vaillancourt, Josh Ziegler; Karen Geitz; Marcia
Mercier; Dave Fuhrman; Joan Whitehurst; Tim Helgesen
Personnel: Calvin Brey; Josh Ziegler
Road Construction; Calvin Brey;  James Lucht; Alan Johnson

Waste Management: Karen Geitz; Josh Ziegler
Fence Viewing: Town Board
9.A motion was made by Supervisor Ziegler, seconded by Supervisor
Geitz: To advertise the sale of the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, squad car, on
MWT web site. Roll call: Vaillancourt-nay, Geitz-aye, Ziegler-nay,
Lucht-nay, Chairman Brey-nay. Motion failed 4 nay, 1 aye.
10.A motion was made by Supervisor Lucht, seconded by Supervisor
Ziegler: To advertise the sale of the 2002 Dodge Intrepid squad car in
the paper, closed bids to be opened at the June 9 board meeting. Roll
call: Vaillancourt-aye, Geitz-aye, Ziegler-aye, Lucht-aye, Chairman
Brey-aye. Motion carried all aye.
11.A motion was made to table the issue of Red Cross storage until the
July monthly board meeting. Motion carried voice vote all aye.
12.It was the consensus of the board to put the fuel tank and the lawn
maintenance on the agenda in May.
13.It was the consensus to serve cheese, sausage, crackers and cookies
along with coffee, punch, soda and water for the open house of the new
Town Hall May 2 from 1-4 pm.
14.A motion was made by Supervisor Geitz, seconded by Supervisor
Ziegler to adjourn Motion carried voice vote all aye.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
